The training at Etelä-Karjalan Luistelutähdet is led by our experienced and respected head coach, Galina Kozneva.

Galina will begin her role with us in June 2025. She is a certified figure skating coach who graduated in 1991 from the prestigious Lesgaft Academy of Physical Education in Saint Petersburg, where she studied under the world-renowned coach Alexei Mishin.

Galina has worked as a coach at the Sports School of Olympic Reserve in Saint Petersburg and has spent the past 20 years as a head coach in Sweden, working with clubs in Leksand, Gävle, and Bollnäs. Her skaters have won junior world championships in pair skating and national titles in Sweden in both pair and single skating at the novice level.

In Finland, Galina served as head coach for Haminan Taitoluistelijat from 2018 to 2020 and as a coach for Lappeenrannan Luistelijat (LRTL) from 2021 to 2024.

She is known for her calm, encouraging coaching style and her ability to support skaters holistically – technically, mentally, and emotionally. Her deep expertise forms a strong foundation for the development of our club’s training philosophy.

Other Coaches

In addition to our head coach, we plan to complement our coaching team with assistant coaches and hourly instructors. Discussions are already underway with experienced professionals who bring diverse backgrounds in figure skating, choreography, and youth coaching.

More information about our coaching team will be updated here as new coaches are confirmed.
